...or lack of...

I spent the entire day down in SF's Embarcadero trying to get a glimpse of the Olympic torch. Granted, in my dirty mind, I wanted to photograph protesters harassing the torch runners to get some dramatic shots. However, that opportunity (thankfully) never arose, as the route was changed at the very last minute to dodge all the protests.

So, all I was able to get was some lousy photos of various protesters...

Did anyone have better luck than me getting shots from this event?

Jason, I think your pics are great! The subject matter is definitely timely! In addition, you have captured the colors very well! Your picture would have been worth some $s though if you had really captured them with the torch!

The colors are wonderful in these pictures, and I love the second one! I wondered if they were going to change the route, and if anyone would get any good pictures. These are so nice, though, that it doesn't matter that you missed the torch.

Hi Jason,

I actually don't miss the torch. I think each of the shots has elements that tell the story, and the colors and dynamism conveyed are fantastic.

Thanks for the comments.

I really did want to see the torch that day, if even for a second. I went so far as to chase it to SFO airport by train after I saw the convoy on the freeway. But again, I was denied the opportunity to view the torch, as they entered the airport from a different location and had the airplane situated on the executive terminal, away from prying eyes. All I could get from the airport was a view of the jet that transports the torch.

What a gyp...
