Over the years, I've dealt with dogs, rabbits, and even the occasional deer on soccer fields. I wasn't prepared today to deal with the visitor who had apprently mistaken our soccer field for a pond.



Removing him from the field became problematic, because he didn't want to go, and wasn't shy about showing his displeasure



After several false starts, a box large enough was located along with a large stick to flip him over into it. He was given a ride to the edge of the creek along the side of the field and watched the remainder of practice from there.

That's not what one considers as a normal hazard for a soccer coach to deal with. I can just see it now - you getting ready to retire and turning over a safety/operations manual to your successor with a section on "EmergencyTurtle Removal"!
