Really nice photo and excellent exposure. I'm curious how you avoided underexposing, with such a bright sky? When I take photos like this at +1 or +2, the subject usually ends up getting blown out by the bright background.

Hi Dan. Thanks for looking and commenting. What I do is use spot metering and meter on the subject. If the sky blows out a bit I will accept that. I shoot in raw and was able to bring the exposure up a tiny bit, too, in Elements with levels.

Another thing is this was pretty early in the morning so it wasn't full harsh daylight.
