I don't like using a flash! I almost never do! But today with the skies very dark and light rain falling the 500mm Bigma with a TC was not doing very well. So I sez why not! Not bad! Not bad at all!

Some of your best! I will agree with Roy about flash. I could never understand why some photographers are against using flash. After all, photography is about light. Learning the use of flash expands possibilities such as this and also can get you the sharper, more colorful image you are after.

Flash takes time to learn but can become an indespensible tool and makes some photo ops possible where they would otherwise would be a wash without it.

Mahalo,

Tom

I second that.

Dawg,

How far you were away from the subject??? At least 20 ft away and the built in flash just could never make it that far. I doubt if the flash illuminated anything at all. Or maybe barely

Between 15 to 20 feet away Daniel. The flash being light does go that far..But being a beam of light it spreads and over distance is dissipated and not as strong as it is spread furter and further apart by the distance traveled....but it is still light and in this case actually made a big difference. Here are three photos taken at the same time but without the flash...The distance is very close to the same as the Woody was just above the feeder shown in the other photos... The last one is just as it released it's grip to dive back to the feeder!
