After bigdawg's thread a couple of weeks ago that became a discussion and sharing of small birds in flight, I have been making a conscious effort to shoot them. This Cardinal was from last weekend.



This morning, it was a female Cardinal, taking off from a rail fence



This indigo bunting took off from the feeder, heading directly into a harsh sun



This bunting wasn't in flight, but I couldn't resist posting because I liked the colors of this shot so well. (all shots with the K20 and Phoenix 100-400)

Really like the female cardinal take off shot.

Looks like the Phoenix 100-400 does a good job. Will have to see if any stillavailable !!!

Some great photos Paul. Really like the Female cardinal photo. Very good stop action there!
