From a concert this past Friday. Could not take my SLR, but captured these with my Pentax Optio 550..hand held at ISO 400..cropped some. Not the best of detail, but the best I could do with my little P&S!

In any event, does any one recognize him??
Jay

That is an excellent guess, but not quite. Actually, this performer was probably very popular in Australia as well in the 60's. He claims the sideburn thing was his innovationthat Elvis adopted!

Hi Jay,

With that clue, I'll say Engelbert Humperdink (sp?), which is my first guess from the pics, though he doesn't look like he's in his 70's (at least). . . . maybe he's had some "work" done. . .:-)

Julio was my first guess as well, but when I looked him up on Yahoo music, he didn't look like that! Englebert sounds like a good guess!

Ding...ding...ding... Scott and Glenn . . .Englebert Humperdink it is! All right, so I am a big fan:-). Drovefour hours to Merrilville, IN to see his performance (the closest he got to my area). Not too far from your area Scott.

Glenn: You're right: he does not look like he is in his 70's and I figured as well thathe has had some"work" done. His voice is still as powerful and smooth as ever.

Tsquare: you sound like you might be a card carrying member of his fan club....nothing to be ashamed off:blah:

A fan, but not card carrying. I remembered that his first name was Arnold, but could not remember his last name, so I Wikpedia'd him. Actually, he is only 9 years older than me. I got my Medicare card last week. :O
