Great and informative reply from you and you have raised my interest in retrying my previous failed attempt on my Jupiter9. I have purchased a manual file from Sears and I would attempt manually to get the edge shaped pin hole as shown in your picture. I have a Vivitar "Series 1" 70-210 f/3.5 from Kiron. It is my best zoom in 70-210 but it is way heavy that I sold it for cheap. Thanks again for the help and picture.

Take a piece of thick leather and put it in a vise to hold it. That should allow you to use the file. Careful strokes and patience will get it done. Mine is made by tokina and starts with 37. Compared to a lot of my other lenses it is a feather weight lens...LOL I sometimes use a Sigma 50-500mm lens ( the so-called "Bigma") at full extension and shoot with one hand....Being a Big Dawg is an advantage with large lenses! LOL Naw...I just refuse to put a good beer down to shoot a photo!! LOL
