Driver3, just popped up the in built flash, as bright day but some shadow from branches.

Kjell, these are wild Cockatoos, in this case in a tree in our front garden. I was below this cockie and it was surprisingly confident!

cheers

bb2

PS another shot from today, in the backyard this time.

Red Wattlebird. 1/1000, ISO 800, f6.7, 500mm

Dal, similar price in Perth. I tried ordering one from Amazon in the US at about $1,000- but lens sales only for the USA and territories! I hope they appreciate the great value they get over there.

These are all fantastic, beachboy2.

I don't have to worry about getting this lens as my husband just informed me I don't need any more lenses for five years after the two recently purchased and the car I'll be paying for tomorrow. That about wipes out the savings account.

I'll just enjoy everyone's photos from here.:-)

We may have a few birds that would make you envious, but not nearly as many as you have for us. Which cockatoo is that? Thanks for posting these.

Hi BB2,

. . .and a good day's work indeed with the new lens. I don't think that too many are disappointed in the performance of the Bigma.

This is Calyptorhynchus funerus baudinii, White tailed Black Cockatoo. I hope you realise what a privilige it is even to see one, non theless to actually have them in your garden, BB.
