The Stork (aka UPS) dropped offthis box from the people with the smile (aka Amazon.com)...I thought I ought to record this moment for posterity...

The big box contained 3 smaller ones. . .

And here she is. . .weighing in at a full 1.87lbs + 1.51 lbs.

Carefully unpacked the body and lens and performed the focus test at f/2.8with the following results...

So far, the focusing appears to be fine. Plan to put it thru a full battery of tests including the grip which was in box #3. Great thing about Amazon is their 30 day return policy. In the mean time. I'm pulling for all of you bydoing my part to keep the economy stimulated:-)

Way to go! Definitely put it through it's paces and see what you think - I hope you will be as happy with yours as I am with mine (and yes, the focus looks right-on with the 50-135, just as mine was). I only have 3 AF lenses (well, 4 if I ever get the 50-200 fixed) and none of them needed any AF adjustments.

There are sure a lot more buttons than my entry level DL! I plan to first spend some time ensuring that the electo/mechanical systems are functioning OK. Next will be the image quality tests. I must confess that I am a very fussy customer (and somewhat of a skeptic at heart). Therefore, I need to convince myself that this is the right gear for me. As I mentioned, Amazon's 30 day return policy gives me plenty of time. Just got to make sure that I do not spill ketchup on the owner's manual:lol:
