Thanks for letting us see a side of Buffalo that I never knew existed, and some history, too. These are really neat pictures.

What are the mental hospital buildings used for now? They are beautiful (I like the second picture better because it accentuates the interesting towers).
They are empty and falling deeper into decay. It's a shame, but it would cost a fortune to renovate and make use of them. Every once in awhile the local Buffalo News Paper runs an article about the need to restore this architectural gem; but nothing ever happens.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"Thanks for looking.

Thanks, they call Buffalo the 20 minute city. You can get anywhere within 20 minutes.

I work less than 5 minutes from the photo sites. Once there, everything I photographed is within a 10 minute walk. I was back to my desk in 55 minutes.

However in a January blizzard we might be talking several days.

Within a 10 minute walk?!! It takes me 15 to just get to the Botanical Gardens, and 20 or more (depending on how fast I walk) to get from one end of campus to the other! Of course, a certain amount of that time is spent waiting for the many traffic lights I have to go through...
