I can't quite pull off what I was thinking, and even if I could, the thread would get way too long. There were two pictures I wanted to include, but one was a slide I took with a film Pentax and I can't find it (found the others I took that trip so think I must not have kept it). The second picture I can't remember when I took it, and I didn't spot it in my proof sheets.

But here goes what I have:

Round Up:

Round Down:

Round House:

Out Of Round:

Half Round:

SurRound:

Round Hole (with a square peg):

(In) Ground Round:

Round Top:

Fake Round (weak, but I wanted to use the picture):

I couldn't find a nice picture of a robin that I took one day (round robin) or theslide of unexploded munitions that are by a 4x4 trail that goes beside a military range (short round). And there's a ton of other possibilities I can think of - a picture of the current gas prices titled "round numbers (NOT!), and so on.

Now to actually try to shoot something for the challenge...

Very cool photo essay, Harriet. I like it!

#1 is my favorite. Of course, the symmetry again that I like. I have a photo up a lighthouse that I keep meaning to go back and get a better shot of. That reminds me, I should check when they're open. Only the last weekend of each month all summer. Now's the time!

Patty - I remember your lighthouse picture and it's one of two visual images that came to mind when I started thinking of visuals connected with variations on the word "round". I'll probably post the first one as my challenge, but I have another visual image in mind (but may not get to where I need to go to take it before the end of the month). I actually came up with about 20 possible ideas, but no opportunity to shoot many of them. I'm sure others can add ones I haven't even thought of.

OK, Penolta, just for you. I did think of a round table, but hadn't thought of a good enough picture. This isn't one of my better efforts, but what I could come up with tonight, on short notice. Definitely not great photography.

I'm having trouble getting off of the floor, I'm laughing so hard! I've thought about another idea for the knight at a round table, but I have serious doubts I'd be able to pull it off. It would take someone with a wonderful sense of staging still-lifes to pull off. I could probably manage the photo technical side of it. I may still try it, but not tonight.

It's been lots of fun thinking of visual cues that go with "round" - it's definitely a fun topic. I may not be done with it yet, either.

Can someone suggest how I could learn about setting up still lifes? It's something that seems to escape me.
