Every year we have a 2 day festival in the park just across the road from where live.

The band my step-son used to play in, now has my step-neice as the lead singer, so we went over there yesterday to listen to the music.

My neice

The drummer

Lead Guitar

He takes it very seriously

But plays very well

Fans help mop the sweat

Thirsty work, singing

The loyal fans that attend every gig.

Apologies for the long post.

All shot with K10D, using the DA 50-200mm or the Sigma 28-135mm, and JPG only.
No PP, straight from the camera (fill in flash used on most to conteract the strong sun through the tent wall)

More shots from the evert can be seen here

I love the close-up of the hands and the guitar. It looks a little dark/underexposed on my monitor but is otherwise a cool picture (might try a little levels adjustment to lighten it), my favorite. Your step-niece sure is having a good time with the fans, isn't she?

You are right - it is a touch under-exposed. I might try for the B&W look for that one.

The fans do seem to like her - she has a good voice, and does real well on the acoustic session.

Thanks for looking and commenting

Thank you Rodney.

It is interesting to watch the fans as well. The tent was fairly empty, they come on and the tent fills up. They finished, got talked ionto another song, then when the next group came on, the tent empties again.

They were asked to play the main stage this year, by the radio station who run the event, but they declined as they like to stay close to their fans.
