More and more I find myself taking pictures of nature in terms of abstractions or patterns. My eye seems to be drawn to this type of stuff. What's amazing is how compelling the photographs of these things are (to me and to a pretty large group of other photographers). many time--when I show a group of photos to someone I know--they find these "natural abstractions" or patterns very appealing.

I know what you mean about being drawn to the natural patterns. I am, too, but usually someone else's pictures. I find it really hard to get this type of thing right.
