More images..this time with the DA 18-55 mm kit lens. This time I also used the macro flash setting on my Sigma 500 DG Super flash: that's where the flash head tilts down 7 degrees. All hand held with the DL. The conservatory does not permit the use of tripods (not sure why).

Exterior of the building on what was a very cloudy day.

Interior display room

Orchids

Fern

Thistle (Out doors)

Not sure what kind of palm this is, but I liked the pattern

All are very nice. I really love the ferns! Looks like a very successful outing with everything working well together.

Very nice series Jay. I like the thistle best but the interior shot of the conservatory with the flowing shapes is pretty neat too.

Very nice shots Jay.

Most places have a ban on tripods as they tend to get in everyone elses' way.

Thanks all for the comments. Overall, the trip to Pittsburgh was most photo-worthy! Highly recommend it to anyone interested in visiting. Most of all, I was pleasantly surprised at the performance of the kit lens as well as the DA 50-200 mm.

Next trip coming up is to Milwaukee, WI!
