Welcome Steve, to the world of Pentax and LBA....LOL I like your decision process my friend. Makes sense even to this Redneck. Good Pentax glass will always be usable ...even on the newer cameras and as Roy said with a Pentax camera they will have image stabilization without the added cost. Looking forward to your coming post my friend!

Thanks everybody. I agree that Pentax may or may not be the best camera (that depends on one's individual needs). But it is an excellentcamera and I personally think it is the best value out there - and for me that matters a lot. I got my rebate application in the mail to Pentax this morning - can't let that go very long, can I? I've got family coming into town this weekend and that'll keep me occupied. So it may be a week beforeI get my first pix up. ButI plan on being around these friendly forums for a long time. Thanks again!
