I spent a few hours both days at the Merritt Island NWR this weekend. This time of year is not the best time for te area. It is incredible during the winter but I was able to fine a few birds.

All taken with my K10D and Sigma 50-500.

Great egret escaping.

Next is a great blue heron in a similar situation.

This is a little blue heron. These guys can be spooked pretty easily.

And this is a reddish egret. The little blue and the reddish are two of my favorites. They are a little less common and definitely good looking.

I hope you enjoy them.

Excellent shots Dennis. I especially like # 3. Sure looks like you have a handle on the Bigma!

Great shots! Are these hand held or tripod?

Thanks Jim for looking and commenting. These were hadheld. It takes a bit of doing with the Bigma. It also helps that since I had my K10 serviced it focus' faster and WAY more accurately!

Very nice shots, all sharp and good composition, I especially like the last one.

Dennis, great series, as they are now nr4 is my favorite.

Nr1 would have won if it had been a bit lighter.
