I think you will be very happy with that lens. And it IS a zoom - you just need to zoom with your feet, that's all. And that's not such a bad thing, either, since it gives you lots of opportunity to examine your subject.

Can we see some minimum/maximum DOF examples, please? (Got to think of it when I looked at your Day lilies and Tom's sunflowers in the Aug. chall. thread.)
