Hi Tom,

Terrific shot!

I remember seeing a lot of Monarchs as a kid, but now that I'm looking for them (to photograph), I never see any. . .

I think that this is a good example of the "tele-macro(almost)" abilities of the FA*300, and I find myself taking quite a few shots of flowers, butterflies and such while I'm out looking for or waiting for birds. Another great application for (IMO) a legendary lens.

I find it hard to believe that Pentax didn't start making them again instead of designing a new lense in the same focal length.

As others have mentioned, it does have a very 3d effect to it. Nice shot Tom.
