Snapped these last week when I was in Shelter Island, NY. This guy sure looked like he was having a blast! DL with Sigma 70-300 DG APO.

Neat shots! I love the third one, great timing. It does look like he's having a great time.

Yep, gotta admit I got lucky with #3. Only took about 10 shots in all and was fortunate that the light was in my favor. There were 2 of them who skied. The one in the white pantswas one good skier: lot's of flips and jumps. He only took one spill in the time I was watching him.

For some reson the EXIF does not show in the image, but I believe I shot at ISO 400 in later afternoon light coming from the left of the image. Focal length was slightly short of the 300 mm maximum.

Rodney, GW and Tim: thanks also for your kind comments!

It is even better when you are in the boat, the camera is moving, the boat is moving and the skier is moving, what great fun.

Very nice action shots!

Now that does sound like fun Tom...don't forget trying to keep your camera dry when in the boat!

Sargathee: Unfortunately, have never seen this kind of action on the Ohio--too much barge and other boat traffic I suppose. Additionally, in these parts, folks are a bit hesitant to actually get in the water in the Ohio!

Thanks for your comments!
