Looks like you are going to have fun, Ira. Enjoy! Take some photos in between the timing if you can.

Ira, not bringing any camera at all will be considered a crime!

Have fun!

I had a great time, http://flickr.com/photos/monza76/set...7607667379105/ contains new images and some from previous Targa's.

BTW, that is me in the passenger seat of the Healey 100-4

Ira, I swear I am going to make to to Targa Newfoundland one of these days. I essentially have three hobbies: auto racing, photography and ham radio. I don't actually race myself anymore (I did showroom stock and Formula Ford in the 1970s), but I remain a huge fan of all motorsports. My personal favorite: World Rally.

I loved the pix on your flickr page. Especially the Alfa, NSU... and the Studebaker! Does lodging become hard to find around rally time each year? I have a buddy who lives down in Halifax. Maybe I could stop by his place and convince him to join me. He has told me several times that, as beautiful as Nova Scotia is, I should really see Newfoundland and the Labrador. To quote him: "It's like being on another planet."

The rally moves around quite a bit, It starts in St. John's overnights for two nights in Gander (4 hotels there) one night in Clarenville, a night in Marystown and then back to St.John's. If you check out the route and choose where you will stay well in advance there should be accommodations.

They are always looking for volunteers, if you can get a volunteer position they will supply accommodations you will just need transportation.

See the Targa Newfoundland website for details.

Ira
