This is becoming a weekly thing this summer. We've been trying to get out and seeing the sights around the area with the kids. There are some nice day trip locations around here.

Some model train layout pictures from Ridge Road Station in Holley NY

This train sang the Coca-Cola song "I'd like to teach the world to sing....."

A nice sunflower from Golden Hill State Park on the shores of Lake Ontario just west of Olcott Beach NY.

Also at this park is the 30 Mile Point Lighthouse.

If you want to see the rest of my pictures from this day you can go here.

Thanks for looking.

Some really fantastic photos Mike.
The sunflower couldn't be better; the bee really gives it perspective.

Amazing color and detail on the sunflowe! I also like the compositions on the lighthouse. The use of the trees for framing is very effective. The ones of the model RR are nice too. I dabble a bit in model RRing myself in the Winter months.

Where in NY State is Kenmore? My wife and I went to college at SUNY Plattsburgh (Adirondak region). Also what lens were you using?

These were all taken with my Sigma 24-135mm lens. If I'm not mistaken, the exif information should be with the pictures.

Thank you all for the comments. I'm still learning and experimenting and to read the comments give me more confidence in what I'm doing.

Kenmore is in Western NY, a northern suburb of Buffalo, part of the Tonawandas.
