I was in my workshop today working on a project. I went down to one end that hasn't seen much use lately, when I noticed a spider web. Looking up I saw this rather large colorful creature looking at me.
I asked him to stay put while I went and got my camera… he said he would but to hurry it up!

That was good of him to wait, I hope he appreciates now being famous on the net.

Maybe he would like to meet this girl ...

You guys forgot to put a warning on your post! Yikes! I opened this on my laptop with it's crisp clear screen.:-)

You can keep him at your house. My husband keeps coming in the past few weeks telling me about all the snakes he keeps finding in the yard as he's mowing. He keeps being told to just keep them outside.

Hey Rodney,
That's a good one! Nice looking web too. The thing I found interesting about my guy was his web was in squares. Very strange, also had a translucent white film like trail on part of it. Wish I had thought to photograph that too. I doubt he appreciates me making him famous though, he's now deceased.

Sorry Patty,
Next time I'll post a warning.
Actually, I thought about adding a nice loud scream sound effect but, I was afraid I might get kicked off the forum.:G

It really is a beautiful spider, as spiders go (I'm not crazy about them). Very crisp pictures.

Was this with your new macro lens John.

If so, it is definitely the best to date. Very sharp and clear even on my crappy work monitor.
