I have no idea what he is. he's about 2-3 times the size of a lady bug.

It could be this, or a very very close relative as there are some very minor differences.

Mike, the pic I got was out of focus but, you can see what its back looks like.
it does look a lot like the one in your link, except for the back.

Yeah, it's definitely of the same family as the one I found online with a slight variation in coloring.
