Love these shots, I would love to see parts of Africa but the amount of crime in South Africa is appalling (I have distant relatives who live there who communicate with us all the time) and the amount of unrest/conflict is too scary for me... It's a shame really as it's a beautiful continent and there is so much to see and experience there.

Wonderful shots, Kjell. I like the first and last best, but they are all well taken. Thanks for posting.

Thanks all for the nice comments.

MM, not denying the problems I can say that I've never had any problems myself. I've been in SA many times for work, and I've spent a lot of time in areas where the tourist guide books say "don't go there". If you just keep attention and don't do foolish things, it's a lovely country for the tourist.

I'd like to close the thread with a picture of the Umzimvubu River Mouth, where the tiny town Port St John's is located. And as we met our newly found relatives (my wife's second cousins) in Durban we learnt thattheir grandfather, my wifes grandfathersbrother (phew!) was the Port Captain of that tiny little town in the beginning of the last century. The last ship left the port 1946, and now thereis virtually nothing revealing that this was once a vibrant trading place. Now it's a lazy once-was, slowly growing as a paradise for well informed tourists and back-packers.

Thanks again for looking and commenting

Kjell

I am late to the thread but I still wanted to comment on how great these landscapes are Kjell. Really like the 12 Apostles but there is not a bad one in the bunch.
