Some day the east coast of the US and maritime provinces will be my vacation and I will try to see as many lighthouses as I can.

I know what you mean about some being harder to get at, like these (Buffalo water intake (left) and an old lighthouse that is not abandoned (right)):

Yep, there are a lot of nice ones. I've got numerous books on them. The lighthouseswere one of the reasons for me to get the 70-300 lens.

I have a lot of shots like yours here. I've even traveled all the way around the bay into Maine to get some of the New Hampshire ones.:-) Maybe I'll post some of mine after I get my photos submitted to the next fair (in a few hours) and my homework done for my photography class. We are on week 2 and I haven't finished up week 1. And still want to finish up with my Quebec vacation photos. Well, enough of my too busy life!

That's not bad really. I like that, looks like a cool lighthouse. We went to Chicago 2 years ago, I don't remember that lighthouse, but then again I didn't even have my *istDL back then.

While we were there for my Brother-in-laws Wedding. We took a ride To Navy Pier and Took what was called a tour of the Chicago skyline from the lake. They were using Large High Speed Boats to take us around.

Neat subject Mike, it looks like everyone loves lighthouses. Here is mine, the old lighthouse and keepers home on Boca Grande at the mouth of Charlotte Harbor FL. Yours show better attention to composition, the first one looks pretty neat.

That is still pretty cool. That's a residence I could live in for sure.
