Thanks all for the chigger advice and sympathy. I guess I assumed they had come from the sand as I was on knees and elbows in the sand several times getting shots and it was my elbows that were eaten up the worst. I was brushing against plenty of vegetation too though. I will certainly be taking precautions the next time I go out!

Fantastic, Tim. That first one is great. He didn't bite through your pants did he?

Ah, yes, chiggers. One of my first bad experiences of Georgia. We went for a visit to a local pond. My youngest stepson and I decided to sit in the sand and rest. Big mistake. I never knew what they were before then and have luckily had no experiences like that again with them. It was the sand, as all the body parts that were touching the sand that day, mostly around the tight parts of clothing had the bites. I itched for weeks. Did find that nail polish seemed to stop the itch like Harriet said. Wasn't sure if it was the loss of oxygen supply or something in the polish that acted as a itch reliever. I didn't care, it worked.

Keep up the good work.
