As a matter of fact, I have seen them in late Summer when the nectar has fermented laying on their backs on the ground, drunk and I swear they sound as though their laughing.

They are such cute birds.

There's an aquarium near here that has an aviary of just Lorikeets (several different types). We visited one very grey day and it was so much fun to watch them - they didn't care about the lack of sun or the cold, almost drizzly low clouds. They were just having so much fun and it was impossible not to feel better when watching them. Thanks for posting the pictures and reminding me of that.
