Really like #4. He stands out nicely against the water.

Nice shots, I like No 3's mirroring.

It's hard for me to get anywhere during the week - too long of a commute to wander around any. Some weekend I've thought about going to the Sepulveda Basin, I read that there's trails and birds but don't quite know where to go for all that. It's a long way for me coming down the hill to get to O.C. but one of these days I'll make it to Bolsa Chica.

Thanks GW, Glenn and Rodney foro looking and commenting.

Harriet, in a few weeks it should really be worth the trip. There are some good seafood restaurants nearby, too, in Seal Beach, Sunset Beach, and Surfside - no need to go all the way to Pismo Beach, but there is more traffic.

Interesting - I just figured out that Pismo and Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve are about the same distance away for us - both around 115 miles. There isn't much traffic for us to get to Pismo - we end up driving mostly 2 lane roads, 40 miles of which are twisting, mountain roads where you are lucky to be able to drive 45 mph (but it is scenic). Not sure which would be worse - the traffic on a weekend day or the blind curves, probably would end up taking about the same amount of time. That will be an eye opener for my other half!

Harriet, Malibu Lagoon might be more convenient to you from UCLA. It isn't what it used to be, but it is still productive. Check out these pictures from there:
