Hello Everyone,

I shot this shot of my wife and youngest daughter. (Family shots. One of the main reasons I got the dSLR.)

One of my first attempts at thinking about lighting in order to model.

Key light = window to camera left with shutters open.
Back lighting (providing some rim lighting) = window behind my daughter with shutters open.
Fill light = light bouncing off the white walls that I'm to lazy to paint - I mean I left white to allow a nice surface to bounce light around.

I just got a Vivitar 285HV to start playing with off-camera lighting, but didn't use it because I'm waiting for a cheap remote RF trigger that I ordered to arrive.

I'm still happy with how this image turned out. I can see some detail in the skin. A lot better than my other attempts. (I won't post those!) <grin>

Take care,
Glen

I don't have enough experience to critique or comment on your lighting strategy but your daughter is a cutie and you are obviously a proud papa. Congratulations and nice shot Glen.

I am really proud of both my daughters. <smile>

Take care,
