Well, I finally ordered my K20D, and it was delivered this morning.

Why, when my K10D is only just over a year old, with around 12,000 pics on it?

I blame, totally and utterly, the unscrupulous people who post such fantastic shots from their K20D.

I am weak, so I caved.

Gotta say, though that the two cameras are chalk and cheese. The K20D is everything the K10D should / could have been.

The shutter sounds better/faster/quieter

The autofocus, though is such a vast improvement. With the old kit lens, focus is near instant - no hunting.

Liveview works really well, and dare I say it, I think I will probably use it from time to time.

I know it has all been said before, but praise doesn't get said often enough. Pentax, you are winning!!!!

So glad I didn't go to Nikon just yet.

I will have towait until the effects of the Bail Out trickles down to me. I should have about 20 cents to put towards the K200BillionD.

Well, I for one am jealous. I also see the fantastic photos posted by our fellow posters and drool. I have just passed 15,000 shots with my K100 that is over 2 years old now. It still works fine. The more I practice with it, I think the better photos I get. If I trade it in for a K20, I'll have to start over learning. I've gotten a new car and new laptop this year. Been able to buy three new lenses. Okay, so I'm trying to rationalize why I should be content with my K100. It's not working!

I wish you many happy times with your new toy. Now you can post photos to make me step just that much closer to upgrading myself. Although, like Jim, I may be getting the K200BillionD.

Enjoy it.

The K20 really is a wonderful camera. It sure suits me better than the K10 did for all of the above reasons, and then some. So now you can join all of us posting those wonderful K20 pictures, making all of the others drool over their monitors.

Patty - why would you want to trade your wonderful K100 for a really heavy camera? Just think of all that extra weight hanging around your neck. And all of those extra buttons and levers that can get accidentally twisted to the wrong spot (I don't notice this half as much as I did with the K10 for some reason). So be happy with your new car and lenses, and be happy. Oh, and hope someone surprises you with that heavy camera for Christmas...

The only trouble now, is I am loking at decent lenses again.....

Never ends.

Although by using Exposure Plot, I am finding that the lenses I though I wanted, like the 50-500mm are not on my list now, as I do not even comes close to needing that length for the shots I take.

After Christmas, the LBA will take hold again, and I will look at some faster, better quality optics.
