i know how you feel, i felt exactly the same, especialy when i saw the weather was so dull, i thought no way will i get fast enough shutter speeds but once i took a few and the looked pretty sharp my confidance grew.

i used the Pentax 18-55mm II lense that came with the camera, shutter priority and set it to 1/350s, i tried not to zoom in because of the poor light, set focus to auto and continuos shooting, then i just pretty much keep the horse in the centre and panned whilstholding the shutter down.

i deffinatly think you should do it, its good experience
