well im very flattered, thank you everyone, maybe you were all being kind to the new guy lol

bit of a hard one this because im not sure what themes have been covered before so ill go with something i dont think you will have had.

so the October theme will be "Illusion"

meaning something thats not quite what it seems at first glance.

hope thats ok

i dont have a pic yet, ill need to get my thinking cap on

Great idea Kazuya! I have no idea where to even start, but I am looking forward to trying to figure out what to do.

Hmmm - interesting topic. I'll have to think on this one a bit. There's some obvious and not so obvious options that would fit this theme. Hope one of the ideas I have can work out.

Kazuya, I feel the need to pay you a compliment, last month's winning entry was top notch! It must have been time consuming & the effort was very creative, as well as this month's effort!

My obvious guess for this entry is a wine glass with water that is back lit. My curiosity lies in how you provided the lighting for the liquid, I'm assuming that ice is involved. Please understand that I have NO knowledge of providing aritificial light, but am always interested in learning!

I'm thinking that a mirror is involved which would explain the level line of the melted ice(?) being symmetrical to the line of the base of the glass but that doesn't explain to me that full exposure of the base of the glass??? But it does on the reflection of the base....

Sir, you are REALLY raising the bar! BTW, good idea considering October is known for Halloween & illusions!

ok well its not backlit, it was lit from above, just normal room lighting.

the liquid is not lit up at all lol

theres no ice or mirrors involved either

it was touched up in photoshop, but i onlyaltered the white balance to give it the blue tint and darkened the background, the glass and reflection are as shot.

im not sure i should say how i did it just yet, ill let you think it over just a little bit longer, im pretty sure someone will guess.
