Poor picture, heavily processed, but too funny to discard.
Oblique light, with the top of right wing in its own shade, and the left in the sun.

No crashes, but plenty of splashes. This bird is living dangerously, diving repeatedly between the pilings of the boardwalk, so close that the splashes nearly wet my camera and lens!. It was getting small fish that it could see in the shadow of the boardwalk - not much return for the energy expended in taking of and diving for so little return. Great photo ops though (I'll be posting some better ones soon).

Pure chance, Tim. If I'd planned it, it would have been a better picture. I didn't even notice it until I reviewed the pictures on the computer.
