Wow! Very nice combination! I'll have to remember to try continuous focusing when I'm shooting birds - no WAIT - I can't do that, my 300mm is manual focus!

If I could get just half as good pictures with that lens, I'd be happy. I looked at it at the camera shop today - I could easily live with its size and weight.

You are NOT helping my LBA!

Harriet, obviously I am pleased with the combination. The lens handles well. These are all essentially OOB - all defaults except for continuous autofocus and the Auto Sv setting. I didn't even realize the SR was off, as I always left it on on the other caneras.

Roy, these are of an adult Brown - the other you asked about was the juvenile.

These were all at 300mm (=450) and cropped. The next ones to be posted will come much closer, but be prepared to duck!
