here are a few more shots taken with the Tamron SP 90mm. this time without the 2X converter. when you open an image, you can enlarge it by holding down the control key and pressing the + key several times. or use the wheel on your mouse.

Very nice. My favorite is the one with the wings moving, makes it more life-like than still life.

It certainly looks like that lens is a performer John. #3 is the best IMO, you nailed the focus on that one. I expect a much lower percentage of keepers with macro, 1 in 4 or 1 in 5 makes me pretty happy with for a days shooting.

Tbh I feel uncomfortable about the fuzzy overall look in many images - is this camera shake or way too aggressive noise reduction?

Any chance to see original (unprocessed) images for #2 and #3?

Regards,
Th.

Hi Th,
Not sure what you mean on those...
Now, the last one is pretty fuzzy, I'm not sure why I posted that one!:G Anyway here are the unprocessed shots. full frame, uncroped only re-sized
for post.

Thank you Tim & Roy,
I think this lens is a keeper. Now, the other Tamron I just got is a different story. it's a AF 100-300. I've only tried a few quick shots with it but, I can't seem to get a good sharp image period. the only good thing is it was only $27 and came with a nice UV filter and a full auto adapter.
