is their any danger in placing your cameras lcd side down in a camera bag.
do you think the weight pressing down even though it is resting on a padded surface, will affect anything

I have a home-made bag where the camera rests on it's back, lens pointing upwards. Never felt nervous about that. I'll take a picture and post when I get back from work tonight.

When I first bought my K100 over two years ago I asked the same question. Was told it wouldn't hurt anything. Of course, I never put it down that way on a hard surface. And, always have a screen protector on it to keep it from getting scratched.

And with the "camera compartment" taken out to show what's under. This bag is made of a cheapy "beauty bag" from the department store, plastic foam cut out of a camping matress and some contact glue. This is how I keep, carry andsmash my camera against doorposts, drop it from table edgese t c and it's well protected, it hasn't got the tiniest scratch on the LCD. Besides being the cheapest alternative, the bag fits my needs better than any designated camera bag I've looked at.

I put my K10D...lens down in my LowePro bag. I have concern about the LCD screen, so I fold an older (multiple washes make it softer) soft cotton handkerchief over several times and tuck it in to hold it in position over my LCD.

I've thought about putting a piece of foam in the hankerchief, but then my LowePro bag's lid is foam padded and fits tightly over the hankerchief covered K10D.

I would cover the foam with the handkerchief as some foam I feel could be abrasive if it rubs over the LCD screen.

When walking around with the K10D I flip the camera body/lens downward so the LCD screen isn't rubbing against my clothes.
