I just wanted to say thank you to all the folks on this forum for helping me make my first dslr purchase. In a few day's I will be receiving my Pentax k20d. I'm a long time Pentax user. Itis time to get up to speed with new technology. My old Pentax me super has been a joy to work with for almost 30 years. Now it's time to move forward. This forum has beena blessing. All the great informationposted heremademydecisioneasier. Now all I haveto do is explain to the wife whatshe bought me for Christmas.

Welcome to the forum StevieRaveOn (cool handle, BTW)! We're an active bunch with lots of photo and exeperience sharing. I'm sure you will enjoy the K20D--a good time to get one with the prices on the way down. Did you purchase any new glass with it? The DA* lenses really complement the K20D and together produce some fine images! Look forward to seeing some pictures soon!

Welcome to the Pentax dSLR family!

Those old ME/ME Super cameras were awesome - that was my film camera for many years also. I still occasionally use the lenses I got with my ME back in 1980, though not as much with the K20 since I've also bought some better lenses recently. There's a menu setting you need to change in order to use manual lenses (hint - read the manual as you charge the battery the first time). Biggest thing is to go out and have fun playing with it.

And if you have a question, don't hesitate to ask - we are all a friendly lot and are perfectly happy to answer questions. Chances are we've asked them ourselves at some time or other also.
