Trumpeter swans weren 't the only birds on the north Arkansas pond I visited.Hundreds of ring-necked ducks annually accompany the swans and gather around the swans hoping that the swans will leave some of the corn that people throw for them

There were also a number of buffleheads

For the first time, I saw a flock of double crested cormorants on the lake. Very fast fliers as they skimmed the surface of the pond

A white throated sparrow apparently got jealous and wanted in on the act. He posed for me on top of a fence, not ten feet away....right at minimum focusing distance on my Bigma. No cropping on this one

Very nice! We get the buffleheads occasionally, and I think I've seen some of the ring neck, but they've been too far away to definitely identify. You probably had a better time bird watching at your pond than I did dragging my poor, patient hubby all over a shopping mall.

Very interesting ducks Paul, I don't think I have ever seen their kinds before. Very nice shot on the sparrow, I bet it looks gorgeous full size.
