My attempt this month - Shed in my back yard again.

Information available in the EXIF, but here goes. Conversion and Post Processing done in PPL - which worked out surprisingly well.

Equipment K20D, FA 50mm f1.4

f/2.5, 1/125, ISO-100

Great challenge Glen. Here is one from last month at a WW II reenactment train event.

Tim

Edited so that my shot would not be the only B&W that was brown.

Hm,

I am still missing the true b&w shots. I tried to find or setup some for myself, but am not satisfied so far. What I mean are black and white objects, not b&w shots of colored objects...

Wham!
Sometimes it seems there are really some fairies, angels or whatever around - someone granted me my wish for a "true" b&w photo/object. (in terms of not taking a color photo and convert into b&w)

I guess you know those snow spray drawings people put on their windows in Christmas time? Santa, trees, angels, houses, snowmen, candles, stars and those things...

We also decorated our windows a bit and there is a snow spray angel on one door in the living room. Against a dark background (let's just say it's night and dark outside) it really looks only black and white. Since I took this photo in the early morning hours I did a minor level adjustment to get rid of thefew signs of background and a white balance, cropped to 3:4 ratio, then just resized and here is the result. Taken with DL2, in-camera flash + self-made bouncer, 24mm prime f/5.6, 1/160s, ISO200. I had a hell of a time to avoid reflections in the window... but I think that shot came out well.

This entry replaces my previous one - it might not be the most beautiful, interesting (whatever) photo but it is what I was looking for... a true b&w object/situation in the otherwise colorful world.

I hope you like it (fit's in the time of year at least) - best regards,
Th.

Th - love the texture in that one. And it does seem to be appropriate for the topic.

Thank you,
I noted the nice texture after taking the picture and posting here, too - at first I was really only looking for the pure b&w situation- and I think this is a nice add to the image itself. I really have to train my eyes to notice such things BEFORE taking photos, I've got the feeling, that I miss out some nice photos because I simply don't see such things.

Hi
He great pics, especially the winter scenery from Glenn.

I just came back from a trip at my parents in law region.
It was pretty cold there so i did not do a lot of pictures.
And i had the M 50mm f1.4 on my cam.
So this came out.
Really B&W :-) , no color desaturation, no channel mixer.
bye alex

Some very good photos posted. Here is my best buddy. She's black and white and always ready to play frisbee.
