And both parents on top of the log, telling me to promptly get off their premises!

It's starting to look like it might be a bird after all! It must be wonderful to watch this develop in your home. How can these baby birds survive in the wild is beyond me - I understand guinea pigs, who look like tiny adults, eyes open and all their fur when they are born.

Hi Kjell

Almost identical to the Little Corellas which fly past us each day. Very noisy and dig holes on the nearby oval. Lots of them can be seen in the trees adjacent to the foreshore coffee shop at Mt Pleasant on the Canning River.

Hi Kjell,

The little guy looks great, and they do get big fast!

I don't mean to hijack you thread, but Harriet is right - Guinea Pigs are born ready to travel. Here is a picture of a little guy with his mom and is about 2 hours old....

You and everyone are always welcome to "hijack", this forum is about sharing, isn't it? Thanks for commenting and contributing!

A guinea pig was the first pet I came in touch with when my big brother was given one by a classmate. I still remeber it as very tame and actually pretty intelligent! It would jump out of the box supposed to be a cage and trip to the fridge, and call my mothers attention to get a treat like a piece of carrot.

Yes, I think they are very close. I would love to go downunder to see these birds in the wild. Not to mention all the wonderful Rosellas and other parakeets.

Hi bilybianca,

Now's the time to come down, it's summer and the Aust $ is at it's lowest it's been for years, your euro will go a long way.

Thanks for the invitation, I'll put it on my wishlist to Santa.

Sweden is one of the countrys in the EU that still holds on to it's own currency, the Swedish Crown SEK (there are also Norwegian NOK and Danish Crowns DKK). Unfortunately the SEK is diving with the AUD.

Hi Bilybianca,
excuse my ignorance, , sorry your SEK is keeping you as home bound as my AUD is.
