What a lovely bird - how quickly it has grown up. And what a wonderful experience to have such a friendly fellow around, looks like it enjoys human company as well as its bird parents.

Hi Kjell,

Hard to imagine that this thread is only about months old! Thanks for sharing this experience.

Now the kid has left the building! It jumped out of the nest monday morning and has not returned (I expected it to sleep in the nest at night for some weeks or so, but it hasn't).

Taming it from the beginning has been a successful strategy (the parents are not tame at all).

As "our" first-born parrotthis bird will stay in our home, and will certainly become a rather spoilt pet.

But nothing can replace family.

Thanks for following the development and sharing my joy.

They are cute birds. If we get them from pet shops we will not have the fun of recording their deveopment

That last photo is absolutely perfect - I love the poses! I figured there was no way that baby was going to leave your home, even for the best other home you could find. What wonderful birds.

I can't believe it's only been a few months since he hatched. You'll have to keep us posted as the teenage years come on.
