#4, #7, #8 for me!

Overall I miss the "whoa!!!" factor your setup should haven given you... hm.

#4 - this is the way to go lighting-wise

#6 - the pose is good, but the focus sits on the wrong point

#7 - well done, a bit uninterested, but looks natural

#8 - this is THE PHOTO. Great shot. He seems to be at ease with the situation, I like the somewhat ironic, impish smile. Body language is great. I miss a bit lightat the hairs, at the very top of his head. Skin tones look good/ok, too.

If you ask me... use #4 and #8 as a reference and try to improve in these two settings.

You've got one very nice shot and at least two keepers (from the ones you showed us), how many pictures did you shoot overall to get that?

About thirty or so to get these. The mom...my daughter in this instance liked 5 and 7.
