Took delivery this afternoon on a "Better Beamer" and had a little while to play with it as light was failing. Not sure what was happening, but I had some real problems getting exposure right. It will definitely require more experimentation. However, I did get one interesting shot. This female Cardinal turned her back just as I shot...but I got an unusual shot of the underside of her wing, highlighted by the Pentax AF540 FGZ flash with the Better Beamer flash extender.

Wow Paul,
You couldn't do that again if you tried! too bad it wasn't sharper.
I got one of those better beamers and a soft box a while back but, I haven't had a chance to try them out yet
