when I got to work this morning (4:13am) I couldn't help but take a few shots of the moon. 200mm handheld, I new it would be difficult for me to get a steady, sharp picture but I really wasn't expecting this one! :G

LOL, GW. That's what I call falling.

We were thinking of the same thing at the same time (though several hours apart due to time zones). I, too, was out at 4:15 this morning trying to get a picture of the moon. I have to admit, mine weren't half as amusing as yours is! What happened - did the tripod slip? Or did you slip? Mine weren't very good, by the way. One was in the "it's not any worse than what I've taken before" category, but nothing exceptional.

For being handheld, not that bad... at least you are real stable on the horizontal

Interesting GW. Yep, you have that horizontal movement down cold. Now to work on the vertical.

How in the world did you get this shot. Press too hard on the shutter to moving the camera down???

well guys, I posted it to be funny but, after reading everyone's remarks I think you all made me chuckle the most. :G
the way I ended up with this shot is, I forgot I had set the camera for continuous shooting and left my finger on the trigger too long after I took the first shot and at the same time I was dropping the camera down away from my face. and the results was what you see above. :-?

So its true, the AF system on Pentax's camera really is bad! It can't even follow the moon when it is falling.

I love it! There's nothing I can add beyond what others have already said. I never would have imagined that a nighttime shot of the moon could be whimsical, but you pulled it off GW. Congrats.

I complain about the fact that I some days I have to leave home at 6:30 a.m. to get to work on time. Guess I'll stop my bellyaching.
