If a robin means Spring is on the way, it's going to get warm very early in Arkansas, because this weekend, I had robins in my yard, a highly unusual event. (I can count on one hand the number of robins in my yard over the last few years.) Yesterday, this fellow paid a visit to get a drink from my driveway

Today, he brought about a dozen of his friends, including this fellow

The rest of the yard, however, was full of the usual suspects, dark-eyed juncos, white-throated sparrows, Carolina wrens, tufted titmice, and red-bellied woodpeckers

I was playing this weekend with using the 1.4X TC with the Bigma (Sigma 50-500mm(. Most of these were taken with AF, although I found that I had to be careful to have enough light with the TC for the lens to auto-focus.

Paul they never left here. Usually they disappear for the winter and return in March or April. But this winter they show up in my front yard every time it rains, looking for worms.
