Just got out of the Hospital for rotator cuff tendon surgery, so it looks like the OptioS4 will be the only camera I can physically hold up for at least five weeks, so I won't be positing for a while. This typing with one hand is a real pain (get the pun) too, but I will be looking forward to your posts, so keep them coming.

Taken with a camera I keep in an Altoids tin, but at least it is a Pentax!

I hope you are not right handed (that is a mirror shot?! Look on the bright side - not too many years ago they couldn't fix those things so easily. And now you have an excuse to use the Optio! And we'll have less competition for a few weeks! :G
Seriously though, we look forward to seeing your posts again. :-D

Well Tom,
at least it was elective and not emergency surgery!
I can empathize with you though on the recovery time.
get well soon...
but, like Penolta said, we'll enjoy the lack of competition for a while!

Also when you have recovered that sling looks like it will hold a monster lens.

Thanks for the kind thoughts, and it is a mirror shot, but I flipped it back in CS2 so it is't reversed.

Get well soon and great idea about the sling becoming a lens holder!

I wish you a quick recovery, I imagine the psychological pain from not being able to hold a DSLR equals to the physical pain from the arm. My dictionary won't help me with "rotator cuff tendon surgery" can you explain that a bit? OK for surgery, but the rest?

Good luck with your recovery; we hope you'll be back soon. I have a little Optio S50, and it's a very capable little camera. You might be surprised how much fun you have with shots where the DSLR isn't practicable.
