A few from a walk about earlier today. I thought the bright sun and sky contrasted well with the snow.

It's been 40+ degrees here in Melbourne the last 3 days, so the pic's are a nice release, if only in my minds eye.

I like 3 and 4 the best. 3 because of the variety of texture and 4 because it looks familiar somehow. Good exposure on a difficult subject.

Very nice pictures! It's strange (not funny, though) that you have the weather we are famous for, and we have what we always used to pity the brittons for.

Very pretty photos. Really nice job controlling the exposure.

Thanks for the comments all! Re. the exposures, actually the credit goes to the K20D! All I adjusted was the exposure compensation(+0.3 and +0.7). I was surprised at the saturation in the sky in #4 even though I was not using a polarizer. BTW, these were taken with the DA*16-50 mm which continuesdowell by me!

Hi Phil..thanks! KY gets about 3-4decent snows (i.e. 2+ inches)a year usually between January and March. What's nice is that it usually sticks around for a few days and then temps rise above freezing and it disappears just about the time it starts to turn grungy! This last event netted 8" in my yard!

Freezing rain and ice seems more prevalant for this area (I posted some pix in another thread: http://forums.steves-digicams.com/fo...mp;forum_id=80

Stay warm up there in Connecticut!
