I'll take my snow over brush fires any day (we get them, too). Fire scares me far more than a foot of snow, and a good jacket goes a long way toward comfort. There's fewer ways to deal with heat outside (stay in a swimming pool?). Sure sounds like parts of Australia are having a horrible time of it - I've been thinking of all of you down under and hope everyone here stays safe.

Wow. You have had your share of snow this year, haven't you? I was born and lived my first 25 years in California. All over. Started in LA area, moved to Visalia, then Sacramento then Bakersfield. We used to go up to Frazier Park to see the snow. Yes, we were one of those.

And, this year has been tough with all the ice storms and power outages and now fires in Australia. I, too, hope everyone here stays safe through all these events happening. I haven't been around much to see if anyone's had anything happening, but I do think of you all when I watch the news of your area of the world.

Bakersfield - my favorite town to shop in, the people are so much friendlier and more helpful there! If you haven't been there in the past few years, you wouldn't recognize the south end of the city, it's grown so.

Actually, this year it's snowed more than the last couple of years, but not hugely different than many years. We always get a pretty good storm around President's weekend, then we'll usually have our last snow around Easter. I'm hoping for a couple of more storms (hopefully not as wet as this one was) before then, we need all we can get.
