Does anyone have any idea what the IQ difference between the Bigma and the Sigma 150-500mm on the 3-500mm end? I'm just wondering since I'm not interested in the shorter range, if it's worth paying the extra bucks for the bigma?
TIA,

I can't really say GW as I only have one of them. You could buy the 150-500 and send it to Thach, Alabama and I'll do a comparison and get back to you with it in a year or so......:G:G

All kidding aside it should be about the same as the Bigma. Seems to be a very similar lens arrangement. With the HSM though it should be quieter and a little faster focusing. You do know this will be heavy? :blah:

I like the extra focal length at the small end as with it , the Kit lens and the Bigma are all that is needed to go from up close bug and flower photos to air shows and bird photography. Plus everything in between.

But then again......if all you want is the upper end then the 150-500mm would be the way to go...gotta be a tad lighter than the Bigma.....Just don't sound as Sexy to me:!:

Don't know but I took a flier and ordered the 150-500mm for $879.95 including shipping. For shorter focal length I prefer a lens with better IQ so I went for the HSM focusing, just hope my arms hold up! Both are heavy and I find a tripod limits more shots than it saves for BIF's. I like my Tokina 80-400mm for its light weight and the fact it still focuses well with a 1.5X TC but want to try the 500mm. It is due Feb. 20th, will post some shots when I get a chance.
