Variety was the order of the day in my yard as I observed more than a dozen different species of birds. It was the first time I had ever seen a Northern Flicker this close to my house

Eastern Bluebirds have been relatively scarce in my yard this year, but these two consented to be photographed, chiefly because they were enjoying dried sumac

I have photographed Pine Warblers once or twice before, but I had never had one visit my feeder before.

Robins are very common around the area, but for some reason, I see very few here. This guy, though, had to check out the sumac

Others whose appearance was unusual were a cormorant which flew directly over me and an Easter Towhee, only the second I've ever seen here. And to wind out the color variety, a little red, with a very frequent visitor

All shot with the K20 and Bigma

Some nice shots, Paul. I've seen a few birds quickly fly past the window the past few days, but they're gone by the time I get the camera. Really need to put out some birdseed.
